Community Health Needs Assessment
Lee Health has been conducting the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) since 2007 to better understand the unique health needs of the Lee County community. CHNAs help us to identify health disparities and develop implementation strategies to best promote optimal health, all contributing to our overall community benefit investment.
The CHNA, Implementation Strategy, and annual Community Benefit Report are all available publicly to our community in accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax law requirements section 501(r), which requires nonprofit hospital facilities to conduct a CHNA on a triennial basis.
In a robust, collaborative process with internal and external stakeholders, the following four health needs were prioritized for the 2023-2026 CHNA cycle:
- Access to Healthcare Services
- Cardiovascular & Respiratory Diseases
- Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder
- Nutrition, Physical Activity, & Weight
