It is with great excitement that I share news of a historic milestone for Lee Health and our community. Both the Lee Health Board of Directors and the Lee County Board of County Commissioners have officially authorized the future conversion of Lee Health to a community-focused nonprofit health system. Their votes on Oct. 7 and Oct. 28 complete the final stage of a thoughtful, three-phase process that began over a year ago and marks the beginning of a promising new chapter for our organization.
The decision to convert marks a defining moment for our health system and the community we proudly serve. It is a declaration of our commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care and to serving every member of our community, regardless of their ability to pay. We are not just reshaping our structure; we are reaffirming our promise to you, our patients and neighbors, that we will continue delivering the exceptional care you rely on.
First, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Lee County Board of County Commissioners. Their partnership and thoughtful consideration have been invaluable throughout this process. Their collaboration and input on the Mission Agreement have been vital in developing an agreement that ensures we fulfill our mission with accountability and integrity.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Lee Health Board of Directors for their leadership and guidance throughout this process. Over these many months, they have worked tirelessly to help shape Lee Health's future so that we are prepared to meet the evolving needs of our community while staying true to our core values.
Lastly, I want to thank our incredible leaders, team members and community partners who took the time to advocate for Lee Health throughout this process. Their dedication and passion were critical in helping us reach this milestone, and I am deeply grateful for their efforts.
Our new community-focused structure will take effect on Nov. 1. Over the coming weeks, we will continue to share information about the steps we’re taking to ensure a seamless transition for all our patients, physicians, clinicians and team members.
As we begin this next chapter, we are empowered to forge our own path forward. I am more confident than ever that this transition will enable us to make decisions that enhance care, improve access and solidify our position as Southwest Florida’s Health System of Choice.

It is an honor to lead this exceptional health system and to be part of such an incredible team of individuals. Thank you for your continued support of Lee Health in this next exciting chapter.
