Lee Health Hospitals Among the Best of the Best in the U.S.
From Dr. Larry Antonucci is president and chief executive officer of Lee Health.
At Lee Health, providing our community with high-quality care is what we strive for every day.
I’m proud to announce that all Lee Health adult acute care hospitals have been named among “America’s Best Hospitals™” for 2022, a distinction that places them in the top two and five percent of hospitals nationwide, according to Healthgrades, a leading online resource for information about physicians and hospitals. This designation rewards hospitals that consistently exhibit comprehensive, quality care across all clinical areas.
It is a credit to Lee Health’s compassionate staff and leadership team that all four adult hospitals are consistently recognized among the best in the nation.
This marks the fourth straight year that all Lee Health hospitals were recognized among “America’s Best Hospitals” by Healthgrades. This is also the first time that three Lee Health hospitals were included among the 100 best hospitals in the country.
For the second year in a row, Cape Coral Hospital earned a coveted top-100 spot placing them in the top two percent of hospitals nationwide. Lee Memorial Hospital and HealthPark Medical Center are also both recognized as top-100 hospitals. Gulf Coast Medical Center was also recognized, retaining its top-250 best hospitals designation and placing it in the top five percent.
The top distinctions mean patients at Lee Health hospitals are less likely to experience medical or surgical complications and have the best chances for survival during and after hospitalization.
The list is based entirely on clinical quality outcomes for 31 conditions and procedures. Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance for more than 4,500 hospitals across the nation annually based on Medicare inpatient data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) database. No hospital can opt-in or opt-out, nor can they pay to be evaluated.
In the face of a global pandemic, we have remained focused on providing the best possible healthcare to Southwest Florida.
I want to thank our frontline team members for the extraordinary care they provide and the lasting contribution they are having on the community’s health through achieving excellent outcomes.
