Lee Health Named in U.S. News & World Report's 'Best Hospitals'

From Dr. Richard Chazal, medical director of the Lee Health Heart and Vascular Institute and past president of the American College of Cardiology

We are proud to announce that Lee Health hospitals have once again been recognized nationally for the high-quality care provided to our patients. HealthPark Medical Center has been recognized by Watson Health as one of the Top 50 U.S. Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 - the only hospital in the state to have this distinction four years in a row.  Now, another accolade has been released.

HealthPark Medical Center and Gulf Coast Medical Center will be featured in U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” by the American College of Cardiology.

Being recognized in this list shows our commitment to always providing the highest quality of cardiovascular care.

Every year, U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” helps patients and caregivers find the best medical centers for themselves and their families.

In the 2022 guidebook, the American College of Cardiology (ACC) recognizes the more than 2,000 hospitals, centers and health systems that participate in the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) and/or have been awarded accreditation by the College for their commitment to optimizing patient care and outcomes. NCDR helps empower physicians and hospitals to constantly monitor and benchmark performance and safety parameters.

The list provided by ACC includes HealthPark Medical Center and Gulf Coast Medical Center, the two Lee Health locations with cardiac catheterization laboratories evaluated by NCDR.

Using this national recognition, ACC highlights hospitals, centers and health systems that are leaders in implementing the highest standards of patient care and protocols to ensure positive health outcomes. Communities know that they can rely on those institutions recognized to deliver superior cardiovascular care for patients.

Our hospitals are national leaders in the way we deliver care and this recognition is a testament to the excellence our team delivers every day.
