The medical facility will offer orthopedics, rheumatology and rehabilitation services

(Cape Coral, Fla. – Apr. 2, 2024) --- The second phase of the Outpatient Center at Surfside in Cape Coral is now open.

Located at the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Surfside Boulevard, the medical facility will now offer orthopedics, rheumatology and rehabilitation services, while also featuring a breast health center, imaging, lab services and primary care physician offices on site.

The second phase of the project is also bringing Lee Physician Group specialists in orthopedics to Cape Coral, so residents will no longer need to travel to Fort Myers for appointments. Additionally, rheumatology specialists will be available full-time, giving Cape Coral patients more access to specialized care.

Phase two of the project added 15,000 square feet to the two-story complex, which originally opened its doors in 2015. Located at 2441 Surfside Blvd., the outpatient facility gives Pine Island and Cape Coral residents easy access to care in a one-stop destination for patients who require multiple services and specialties.

“We are committed to caring for the Cape Coral community and the completion of phase two of the Outpatient Center at Surfside will offer residents and visitors more convenient access to primary and specialized services and open up new specialties to the area that weren’t previously available,” said Chief Officer of Community Based Care Kris Fay. “As the city continues to grow, its residents and visitors will enjoy convenient access to medical care in their own neighborhood. The completed facility will also help reduce wait times in Fort Myers since many Cape Coral patients will no longer need to travel as far to receive care.”

Lee Health is working to address the needs of the growing population in Cape Coral. Cape Coral Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was recently expanded to add 12 more patient beds and added more dialysis units. The Florida State University College of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program is also based out of Cape Coral Hospital.

The Lee Health Bimini Square Project began construction earlier this year. It will be completed next year and include adult primary care, cardiology services, imaging, breast health, lab services, pediatric primary care and behavioral health services.
