Biography

Daren Subnaik, DO, earned his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky. He also finished a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Subnaik is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Meet the Doctor

(upbeat music playing) My name is Dr. Daren Subnaik. I am an interventional pain medicine physician and I am from St. Croix, the U.S. Virgin Islands. I chose interventional pain medicine because from the very first time I got any sort of experience with it, I thought it was amazing being able to effect patients quality of life and give them almost instant pain relief in certain instances with our procedures and other interventions that we are able to offer. I decided to come work at Lee Health because when I was a medical student way back in 2009, I actually got to spend some time here doing some rotations at the hospitals and my wife as well and after that, after med school, we went on to internship at Michigan State, residency at Louisville, fellowship at University of Michigan, and the entire time we always thought about coming back to Lee. So my wife was recently finishing her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and we were trying to decide where to go and she’s like well why don’t we just email Lee and see if they are hiring for both of our specialties and we sent an email and they were looking for both of ours and it was like a match made in heaven. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer and weight lifting. I was the former captain of the Virgin Isles soccer team and I’m currently one of the team physicians for the men’s national soccer team. So I definitely enjoy all things athletic. And of course going to the beach, that’s why we’re kind of here in Southwest Florida. (upbeat music playing)

In my opinion Dr Subnaik is a great Dr. Very patient, & explains everything, & will take the time to answer any questions a person has. I had to have an epidural 4/23 & the nurses were fantastic! Front desk was great . Everything was explained to me before I l eft, home care & what to expect afterwards. I have told several people about this office. I know my neighbor has gone to him recently, she has thanked me several times.
