Meet the Doctor

My name is Sunil Pammi MD. I’m a pulmonary critical care physician and I am originally from New York. So I came to Ft. Myers in about the end of 2005 and I joined Lee Health shortly after that. It was a good match for me because I wanted to do a lot of impatient and outpatient work and it suited me really well to join the hospital and work as a team with the hospital. So I chose pulmonary critical care because when I was in my residency and I went into my ICU rotations, they were hard and long hours, I was amazed with how sick the patients were and all the things that the physicians were able to do to take care of them and bring them back to life if you were and that just amazed me. Throughout the rest of my residency, I worked towards becoming really proficient at doing those kind of high level high intensity cases and eventually had the opportunity to join my fellowship at Westchester Medical Center and when I got that opportunity I jumped at it and took it right away. You know, it’s a very high intensity level of work everyday and so one of the things that I love to do the most is when I have free time is to go out there on the tennis court and hit the ball as hard as I can. I play at a level of 4-5 so I would say it’s a very high intense game for me. Ive got a couple of my buddies that I play tennis with. Outside of that, I love to travel with my family, we travel all over the world. We’ve been a little bit held back from the resent pandemic stuff, but were back on track and starting to travel again. And then I guess I would consider myself kind of a foodie, im not as well versed as my wife is but she takes us to places and we try different kinds of food amongst other things. I love being outdoors, so we swim, we play pickleball in the family. And so we’re just enjoying the Fort Myers outdoor life that we have here.

Dr Pammi is quite possibly the best doctor I have ever met. He communicated with his nurse prior to coming into the appointment and was aware of that conversion and my vitals. Was prepared and recalled the information covered in our last visit. Listened to my current issues and discussed options. Set a plan and spent time to insure I understood and was comfortable with the plan. Then did a check of my [ ]. Discussed my upcoming [ ] with the VA and how I could upload those results to my lee health chart allowing him to review the results. Very thorough and professional. I only wish all my doctors were so competent and concerned with my health.

I am very fortunate because have a host of very good doctors...personable but professional, very caring, but Dr. Pammi is the absolute best! I trust him beyond measure. I would also like to highlight Nicholas, who works at the check-out desk. He is soft-spoken , very kind, & very helpful with scheduling.

Dr Pammi has a very good "bedside" manner. He is very thorough and treats his patients with respect and does not rush the patient. He has a way of making the patient feel comfortable and gives his undivided attention. I felt as though he was genuinely attentiv e to my particular issues. It is very obvious that Dr. Pammi is truly dedicated to his profession and to his patients.
