At Cape Coral Hospital, our nursing staff practices the single-room maternity care concept in a welcoming, family oriented environment. Mothers will stay in one suite throughout the process.
Women and newborns have the benefit of a state-of-the-art facility and nationally certified nurses. Cape Coral Hospital Family Birth Suites include beautiful suites with a tub. We provide birthing balls for use in labor, and a high-tech fetal monitoring system allows you to be up and walking during labor.
The expert and compassionate Cape Coral Hospital staff encourages new parents to enjoy the Golden Hour with their newborn where mother and baby enjoy skin-to-skin time in the first hour after birth.
In addition to our family centered deliveries, we also provide family centered cesarean births. Cape Coral Hospital is the home of the gentle cesarean, where the mother gets to experience skin-to-skin with her healthy newborn right in the operating room. Many of our babies breastfeed right from the start.
For your convenience, comfort, and breastfeeding success, all of our nurses are certified breastfeeding counselors and can help support your breastfeeding needs 24 hours a day. We also offer certified lactation consultants for additional breastfeeding support.
Where to go when you are in labor:
Between 6 am - 8 pm, please enter through the women's entrance. Between 8 pm - 6 am, please enter through the emergency department.
When entering through the entrance marked Birth Suites on the south side of the hospital. As you enter, take the elevators on your right to the second floor.
When you get off the elevator, the door to the Birth Suites will be locked. Hospital personnel at the desk will unlock the door for you. If hospital personnel are not at the door, push the button to the right of the front door.
Hospital personnel will answer the intercom and ask why you need to enter the nursing unit. Say you are in labor and they will unlock the door.
Someone is always present in the Birth Suites to welcome you!

Tours of the facilities at the Family Birth Suites at Cape Coral Hospital are offered Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. by appointment only. Call 239-424-2217 to schedule an appointment.
