Diabetes education is a covered benefit for Medicare and most commercial insurances. Lee Diabetes Care offers education at multiple locations mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Managing a medical condition such as diabetes sometimes takes an extra hand. Whether you're newly diagnosed with diabetes or have been living it with it for some time, our certified diabetes educators provide you with the information and tools to better manage your diabetes.

What to Expect

Our comprehensive program will focus on key components to help each participant live well with diabetes. Since 1989, Lee Health Solutions has been an American Diabetes Association recognized program providing quality diabetes education in accordance with the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support.

Learn what’s happening in the body with diabetes and how to control blood sugar levels. Understanding diabetes involves exploring how the condition disrupts the body’s ability to process glucose and the impact this can have on overall health. What are the target blood sugar levels before and after meals and why?

Design a meal plan that fits your lifestyle. Identify carbohydrate sources, what foods contain them, and how they affect blood sugar control. Learn to differentiate between whole foods and processed options—and be aware that products labeled “no sugar added” are not necessarily sugar-free and can still impact blood sugar levels.

Regular physical activity is essential for blood sugar control and overall health. Get tailored support for exercise recommendations to help manage your Diabetes.
