Transport Mission & Outreach
Our commitment to serve
Research shows that pediatric patients transported by pediatric specialty teams have fewer unplanned events during transport, including the reduced likelihood of airway events, cardiopulmonary arrest, loss of IV access and sustained hypotension, and/or hypoxia without intervention.
Research also shows that transporting an at-risk baby is safer in utero.
For these reasons, when you need us, we’ll be there. It’s just another way Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida remains committed to the needs of the patients and communities we serve.
Outreach education & community events
The Transport team brings continuing education programs to your staff to help ensure the best care for your newborn and pediatric patients. Our goal is to help your team broaden their knowledge on specialized neonatal and pediatric care. We can customize topics to meet your facility’s needs.
We’d love to show you our fleet and help further education throughout the community. Our staff and ambulances are mobile billboards for all of Florida, so learn more about us and the benefits we provide!
If you’d like more information, please contact Clinical Coordinator Niki Shimko at (239) 343-6333.
Mission & vision
Our Mission is to provide safe, efficient, compassionate, family-centered, pediatric, neonatal, and high risk maternal specialized care in a transport setting, functioning as an extension of Golisano Children’s hospital in the surrounding five counties which allows the patient and families to remain close to home. Including the enhancement in the quality of pediatric and neonatal care in the community through outreach, education and support.
Our Vision is to become a leading transport team locally within our community, throughout the state and the nation.
