Specialty Pharmacy

Lee Health Specialty Pharmacy was opened in March of 2020. The purpose of Lee Health Specialty Pharmacy was to address the needs of our patients in regards to specialty pharmaceuticals.

We're proud to be able to provide this outstanding service to our patients throughout Lee Health. So whether it's a patient with rheumatoid arthritis, or patient with a dermatologic conditions, or cardiac condition, to make sure that they're in the right cardiac health, our purpose is to help access these pharmaceuticals, educate the patient on the use of these pharmaceuticals. Optimizing that patient outcome through that interdisciplinary medication management effort is really what we're all about.

The Specialty Pharmacy provided by Lee Health is designed to attain the drugs that are particularly difficult to access or to afford on the part of our patients and we allow that process to go seamlessly, such that our patients receive those therapies. Although many of our patients receive some of their specialty pharmacy therapies primarily paid through their insurance, there are often high cost co-payments required on the part of the patient, to receive these therapies.

Our Lee Health Specialty Pharmacy can help the patients access coupons and co-pay cards, as well as foundation grants, to potentially be able to pay for the high cost of co-payments for their medications.

Our goal in meeting the patient satisfaction standard is extremely important to us. We want to make sure that the patient's standards are met and exceeded. We've recently had some results, and net promoter score, that indicate that our Lee Health Specialty Pharmacy is meeting and exceeding the national standards for patient care delivery.

The survey indicates that we are at the top level of performance in regards to patient satisfaction, but what's more important is that we focus on the next patient, which might be you, to bring that patient in to a high level of satisfaction. So we appreciate the ratings of our past patients. We're proud of those but we're looking forward to serving the next patient in Lee Health Specialty Pharmacy.

They need us. We're there for them. That's why those patient satisfaction scores are so important. We're here to serve that patient and make things right, so they get the right therapy, so they can improve their life.

My name is Dakota Freudenberg and I am a specialty, clinical pharmacist here at Lee health. I work primarily in the Oncology Clinic, seeing patients on an outpatient basis with our providers. I provide education to patients in it face-to-face and also via phone. And I also work directly with the providers to make sure we can obtain the medications that are best for this patient clinically and can add an affordable level. So we are integrated in the clinics and we see patients from the beginning when they have a medication prescribed to them and then we help make sure we can get the medications. Get it. Affordable for the patient, get it to their house and then also monitor them clinically to make sure the medication is working and safe for them.
