Lee Health Trauma Care: Where The Community Has Our Undivided Attention
Physical trauma is a serious injury to the body, and we group it into two categories. Unintentional injury occurs without intent such as people getting into a car accident or falling off a ladder. Intentional injury means purposeful violence, either self-inflicted such as suicide or inflicted by someone else such as assault.
Trauma kills more people between the ages of 1 and 44 than any other disease or illness. These accidents and injuries have a profound, lifelong impact on individuals, families, and communities. The most common trauma cases we see at the Lee Health Trauma Center are unintentional – car crashes and falls.

You Can Help Your Lee Health Trauma Center
Donate Now to the Lee Health Trauma Center!Lee Health is a community-focused nonprofit health system. All surplus funds over budget, or "profits," are directed back into Lee Health where they are used to fund the expansion and creation of facilities, the purchases of new equipment, and to keep Lee Health on the leading edge of the newest medical technology. However, providing certain services creates a financial strain that makes it difficult the continuation of providing these services. Trauma Services is one such program.

Stay at the Scene PSA - From year to year, Florida has seen the amount of hit-and-run crashes remain steady, with nearly 25 percent of all crashes involving a hit-and-run. Although the majority of hit-and-run crashes only result in property damage, hit-and-run crashes can be deadly. The Stay at the Scene campaign aims to reduce the number of hit-and-run crashes in Florida by educating drivers on their responsibilities if involved in a crash and the serious consequences they face if they choose not to Stay at the Scene.
