Re-Opening During COVID-19

Many Outpatient and Clinic Locations Now Reopen to the Public

The Southwest Florida community continues to fight through the challenges of COVID-19, and Lee Health’s dedicated healthcare workers have been here for you every step of the way. Since opening our first hospital more than 100 years ago, we have remained committed to the people that live and work alongside us. We stand together in this time to keep our community strong, safe and healthy.

Lee Health’s mission of support continues as we reopen offices, services and facilities that were previously closed because of COVID-19.

Health issues don’t stop for a pandemic, but we know it is natural to have concerns during these stressful times. Please know that our expert staff has worked around the clock to ensure we have the necessary precautions in place to keep you safe and secure.

Working with fully accredited government and health agencies, Lee Health has developed a thoughtful plan to safely resume services. Of course, we will be here to answer any questions you might have as reopening begins.

We thank you for entrusting us with your care. Your safety is always our first priority, so please don’t delay getting the services you need. Lee Health is here to serve you.

COVID-19 Separation

Lee Health has strict guidelines about treating COVID-19 patients. Any patient who has COVID-19 or is suspected of having it will be isolated in facilities, beds and locations specifically allocated for COVID-19 care.

Scheduling Resources

Lee Health Safety Measures

Patient Screenings: Lee Health uses a strict policy to ensure your protection by asking patients to arrive to every facility wearing a laundered cloth mask or paper mask. Patients will not be allowed into facilities without a mask.

We have volunteers stationed at every entrance who will ask screening questions to patients so we can monitor their visit and properly route them to the correct location. These screening questions are in accordance with new CDC guidelines.

Visitors: Facilities will continue to limit visitor access to decrease the risk of COVID-19 exposure.

Extensive Safeguards: Additional safeguards we are enacting in all of our outpatient facilities and physician offices:

  • All staff members must wear masks, and clinical staff must wear masks, gowns, and gloves.
  • We meticulously clean and disinfect each location throughout the day – chairs, door handles and other commonly touched items. We schedule appointments so that symptomatic patients are seen in the morning, followed by a thorough cleaning. Wellness visits take place in the afternoons.
  • After patients check in to a facility, they will have the option to wait in their car until they are seen.
  • Our waiting rooms are realigned so chairs are now 6 feet apart.
  • We are limiting sites for diagnostic testing for symptomatic patients.
  • Facilities will have hand sanitizer stations.
  • We have removed magazines and other reading materials from common areas.
  • Staff will regularly communicate to patients and one another that they are sanitizing rooms and equipment between patients.
  • We have placed social distancing reminders and other educational signs throughout each office and facility.
  • Patients’ check-in and check-out procedures will be as contact-free as possible, and patients will have the opportunity to pay before and after appointments.
  • Facilities and offices will restrict the number of patients and visitors allowed inside at one time to help aid social distancing.

Staff Education: We work closely with government and nationwide health officials to provide our expert team members with all the latest updates on safe practices. This includes regular reminders about sanitizing, social distancing, masks and other protective equipment, and methods of communication.
