Dr. Callahan was born in Panama City, FL. After obtaining his Fellowship in Infectious Diseases he practiced in Vero Beach for 23 years. During that time he served as Chief of Staff at Indian River Medical Center for 6 years, also Chair and Vice Chair of Internal Medicine and Chief of Infectious Diseases. His practice has been mainly in Hospital-related infections. He enjoys making difficult diagnoses and managing complex diseases both in and out of the hospital setting.

    Dr Callahan and his staff were very courteous and professional. All of my questions were answered.

    Our initial visit with staff and Dr were excellent.

    I have kidney disease and had septis. so when I got sick I tried to get an appt to my urologist. I told them I just got out of hospital and I needed appointment asap. I was told I would have to wait until July. I called infectious disease and got an appoitment immediately. Dr Callahan got me an appt right away. When I was in the hospital I asked for a urologist and was told they didnt have any. I will never go back to that hospital. I thank God I have Dr Callahan for a doctor. They are all so friendly and caring and it made me feel safe. Kaylee the PA would always see me if I called. She always took time to explain everything and I never felt rushed.

    The office staff was very friendly and helpful! Christina was wonderful in helping me with the office visit preparing me for my appointment with Dr. Callahan and Dr. Callahan was very congenial and helpful in explaining all areas of my follow up visit. I was v ery happy with the Cape Coral office location because it is only ten minutes from where I live. Hopefully this office can remain at this location or stay in Cape Coral.
