Biography

Dr. Brown was born in Bogota, Colombia where she attended Medical school. She did a year of research as an Immunology trainee at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. After completing her Internal Medicine Residency, Dr. Brown was a volunteer physician at the Sihanouk Center of Hope in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a life-changing experience. Dr. Brown completed her Infectious Diseases fellowship at New York Hospital and her clinical research in Brazil.

After she got married, Dr. Brown lived in northern California, before moving to Lynchburg, VA, where she joined a private ID practice. Her family moved to the Fort Myers area to provide her two sons with the opportunity to hone their skills as high-performance tennis players.

She enjoys practicing general Infectious Diseases and has been part of the Ryan White HIV program for the last 20 years.

    Dr. Brown is an exceptional doctor. She explains every thing in detail. She is not rushed in explaining her opinion to her 87 year old patient. She laid out a clear program for my treatment. I am very pleased and impressed with my first visit with her.

    All the front desk personnel and the nurse that took care of me were very caring and informative.I have to also add the wonderful caring of Dr. Johanna Brown, she is the most caring ,compassionate and knowledgeable physician,she is very authentic and really ma kes you feel at home.Every time i go to a Drs office .i feel very nervous but with Dr. Brown is like talking to a member of my family, she is definitely an asset to Lee Health.

    Dr. Brown and her staff are excellent, everyone is friendly and professional. Dr. Brown explains everything and if you have any questions or concerns she gives you a clear concise answer. You’ll be welcomed by staff, I have never waited more than 10 minutes pa st my appointment time to be seen. If you are lucky enough to get an appointment with Dr. Brown, take it.

    Well, Dr. Brown is clearly a star the star actually the supporting cast there is great. You couldn’t ask for more helpful bunch and fight with you. It was refreshing to have that visit with her and she put me straight on just about everything that nobody else covered so give that out.
