Biography
M. Erick Burton, M.D. is a Cardiologist.
Meet the Doctor
So I've been on the medical staff for Lee Health for 30 years. When I came out of my training program, I came to Fort Myers and helped start the cardiac electrophysiology program, and I've been here ever since. It's been a really satisfying experience working with administration and the hospital system and all of my colleagues. So as I was coming out of training back in the 1990s, cardiac electrophysiology was just coming into the forefront as an independent specialty in cardiology. So electrophysiology actually looks at the electrical activation of the heart and the treatment of certain types of abnormal heart rhythms called arrhythmias. I love to enjoy the weather here in southwest Florida. I love boating. We have a boat. Lately, I've been doing some flower designing, and I do a lot of reading. And I just love to participate in all the activities that are here in our community.
