Your presence is an important part of ensuring comfort and confidence while your childe is getting care. Depending on your child's unique needs, our care team will work with you to help you be with your child as much as possible.

​​​The length of stay depends on the severity of the child's condition and their response to treatment. Some children may stay for a few days, while others may require longer care.

The PICU provides a higher level of monitoring and treatment, with continuous supervision by specialized staff and the use of advanced medical equipment tailored for children.

Parents are usually advised to bring personal items for comfort, such as a favorite toy or blanket for the child, as well as items for themselves if they plan to stay with their child.

What to Bring

The PICU treats severe infections, respiratory distress, trauma, organ failure, neurological disorders, post-surgical complications, and other critical conditions.

The care team includes pediatric doctors, nurses, therapists, child advocates and other specialists trained in pediatric critical care.
