Arts in Healthcare
What is Arts in Healthcare?
We believe in the profound impact that art can have on health and healing. Arts in Healthcare at Lee Health is part of a nationwide movement that links the expressive arts with the healing arts and provides a creative outlet for our patients, families and staff.
Arts in Healthcare Program volunteers integrate the arts into our healthcare environments to promote healing, enhance the patient experience, and support the well-being of our staff and community.
Our program also offers creative channels for expression, stress reduction and enhancement of positive thought processes, and promotes the well-being of those who are ill, along with their caregivers and enhances their overall healthcare experience.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the heart of our Arts in Healthcare Program. It would not be possible without the wonderful volunteers who are willing to donate their time, talent, and energy to this worthwhile cause. We are always looking for passionate individuals, including retired individuals, who want to share their artistic talents and make a difference in the lives of our patients.
Volunteer positions include:
- Art & Art Cart Volunteers: If you have skills in painting, drawing, or other visual arts, join us in creating art with patients or helping to curate our art exhibits.
- Music Volunteers: Musicians and singers can provide soothing music at the bedside, perform in common areas, or assist with music therapy sessions.
- Performing Arts Volunteers: Actors, dancers, and performers can bring joy to our patients through small performances, bedside acts, or larger events.
- Literary Volunteers: Writers, poets, and storytellers can lead writing workshops, read to patients, or help document patient stories.
