Leadership Responsibilities

Mike Wukitsch joined Lee Health in June 2018. Mike’s responsibilities include supporting Lee Health’s mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives by creating the most effective culture and environment for staff to do their best work in support of our patients and their families.

Mike is responsible for strategic planning, operations, policies, and procedures related to employment; human resources information systems; compensation and benefits; labor relations; talent and performance management; workforce planning; employee relations; the human resources service center, and staffing.

He ensures compliance with all applicable labor, equal opportunity, and other rules and regulations related to the workforce over six hospitals, physicians, advance practitioners, facilities, and multiple business units in Outpatient, Ambulatory Care, and Diagnostics.

Mike serves as liaison to three auxiliaries and volunteer organizations with more than 4,000 volunteers. He has administrative responsibility for the operations of three accredited Child Development Centers and is responsible for the Lee Health Health & Wellness division including the health plan, employee health, and the ARNP clinics for both the hospital system and outside agencies.

Professional Experience

Before joining Lee Health, Mike served as the vice president of human resources for Northwestern Medicine in Chicago. He was also the vice president of human resources for Cadence Health in Winfield, Ill., the VP of human resources at the Children’s Hospital Colorado, in Aurora, Colo.; and the director of human resources at the Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colo.

Education

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in communication at Marquette University. He completed his MBA/OBHRM in Corporate Strategy in 1994 at the University of Michigan. He has recently completed a PhD in Organizational Learning, Performance and Change at Colorado State University.
