Leadership Responsibilities
Rick Schooler is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Lee Health.
His responsibilities include the health system’s information systems, telecommunications, medical informatics, and biomedical engineering functions.
Professional Experience
Rick joined Lee Health in 2019. Before joining Lee Health, Rick founded Practical Advisory, LLC, providing independent IT/management consulting and executive coaching services.
Rick previously served as Vice President & CIO at Orlando Health. While at Orlando Health during 2001-2017, he was responsible for information systems, telecommunications, clinical informatics, enterprise analytics and quality reporting, biomedical engineering, supply chain and a group purchasing organization.
For seven years before joining Orlando Health, Rick was Vice President & CIO for Central Georgia Health System. From 1991 to 1994, Rick served as Director of Systems Integration for the Methodist Hospital of Indiana. His employers before Methodist were Ameritech, General Dynamics and Computer Systems Corporation.
Education
Rick earned his master's degree in business administration from the University of Indianapolis and his Bachelor of Science degree in computer and information technology from Purdue University.
