Hi, I am Mary Ann Rifenberick. I'm a nurse practitioner in the Open Heart ICU, and my hometown is outside of Albany, New York, a little town called Winanskill. I started in September of 2022, five days before Hurricane Ian. I chose Lee Health because I had a couple options between New York State and Florida, and Lee Health seemed like a perfect choice. I chose cardiac surgery after I became a nurse. I was a critical care nurse. It kind of morphed into becoming a mid-level as well. I just had a passion for helping people get through heart surgery as well as transplants. Outside of work, I enjoy spending a lot of time with my family. We're really outdoors kind of people. We go to the beach. We ride bikes. We walk around. We like Florida weather, so we stay outside.
