About:
The Professional Practice Evaluation department supports the medical staff at Lee Health on their journey towards high-reliability and exceptional patient care. Members of the department assist in supporting and standardizing the Medical Staff Quality Committee and professional practice evaluation processes across the organization.
Cara Hodson MSN BSN
Biography:
Cara Hodson MSN BSN is a nuring leader whose work is focused on supporting the professional practice evaluation process at Lee Health. As Lee Health's Manager of Physician Quality, Cara supports a compassionate, experienced team of clinicians aimed at the focused optimization of patient care services medically and clinically. Cara advocates for a Higher Reliability Organization (HRO) through the pillars of transparency and communication.
Cara is a TeamSTEPPS master trainer and has successfully completed training on conducting Root Cause and Apparent Cause Analysis teams through HPI Press Ganey. She has completed the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's Open School Training focusing on Improvement Capability, Patient Safety, Leadership, Person & Family Centered Care, and Triple Aim for Populations.
Cara has a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. Her previous experience in Healthcare includes her roles as a Clinical Safety Specialist and Clinical Outcomes Improvement Specialist. She has experience as a critical care nurse, including general, cardiac, and cardiothoracic surgery, as well as telemetry nursing.
