The Lee Health Patient Safety & Quality Improvement department's mission is to be a trusted partner supporting all members of the organization and medical staff in their mission to provide safe, high-quality, equitable, and evidence-based care in order to promote an optimal quality of life for those we serve.
About:
The Patient Safety & Quality Improvement department develops, manages, and sustains, in partnership with all members of Lee Health and the medical staff, the Patient Safety Management System and the Professional Practice Evaluation Program, in partnership with the Lee Health Professional Practice Evaluation program. The department focuses their work on reducing preventable harm and improving the system of care through the application of the principles of high reliable design with consideration of current evidence-based care. The department promotes strengthening the system-wide culture of safety. This includes all aspects of education, prevention, monitoring, investigation, and reporting related to patient safety and quality improvement.
Augusta Agalaba, MSN, RN-BC, CPPS
Biography:
System Director Patient Safety & Quality Improvement. Augusta comes to Lee Health from Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, N.J., where she was the director of patient safety and quality. She has 24 years of experience as a registered nurse with a focus on leadership in patient safety, quality management, performance improvement and patient experience. Augusta will engage Lee Health employees and Medical Staff in strategic quality initiatives while leading the Patient Safety & Quality Improvement and Professional Practice Evaluation departments, as well as the Lee Health Patient Safety and Safety Coach programs.
